Greenstone Training workshop in Mauritius

UNESCO (Dar es salaam Cluster office) is organising a Greenstone training workshop at the Mauritius Institute of Health (MIH).

The workshop aims to train participants to use Greenstone Digital Library software to develop online and offline academic and health information sharing systems.

The event will take place from 11 to 15 April 2011 and will host participants from Mauritius, Seychelles, Rodrigue Islands, and Tanzania.

Along with EIFL, UNESCO has been instrumental in promoting the building of Digital Libraries in Africa, this workshop is a follow up to a similar one held at the same venue in 2009 (see photos). Since then the Bibliotheque Numerique has been set up using local expertise.

EIFL-FOSS has worked closely with UNESCO through the African Digital Libraries Support Network mainly through the provision of technical expertise and workshop facilitation.
