Patients, doctors, medical students – Lori Regional Library’s Health Bridge is showing all kinds of people how technology can open doors to information.
A steady stream of visitors is coming to the library to use the Health Bridge computers, to research online medical libraries and databases, attend lectures and watch films on important local health concerns.
A student at Vanadzor State Medical College, Ms Anoush Avetisyan found out about the Health Bridge service from her lecturers. She only had basic computer skills, and so decided to attend the library’s training:
‘It is extremely important to know how to use medical databases to build my knowledge and save time. I especially appreciated learning to use the official website of the Scientific Medical Library of Armenia (www.medlib.am) which provides huge opportunities for researching its electronic databases and library. The website www.doctor.am provides opportunities to communicate with doctors and to search for important information,’ she said.
