Users’ rights good for local content: EIFL statement at WIPO

The last two mornings of the WIPO Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR/24) considered the issue of libraries and archives. The African Group submitted new proposals on Cluster 3 legal deposit, Cluster 7 retracted and withdrawn works, Cluster 8 limitation on liability for libraries and archives, Cluster 11 translation by libraries. The Committee formally adopted the library compilation document SCCR/23/8 for future discussion.

Member States made interventions on libraries and archives, and NGOs were given the floor to make statements. Read the EIFL statement here.
