EIFL in Côte d'Ivoire

EIFL has been working in Côte d'Ivoire since 2017, in partnership with Consortium des Bibliothèques de l‘Enseignement Supérieur de Cote d‘Ivoire (COBES-CI), and through this partnership, libraries in Côte d'Ivoire are providing access to a wide range of scholarly e-resources. EIFL agreements with publishers also allow authors in Côte d'Ivoire to publish in open access in hybrid or fully open access journals at waived or discounted Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Libraries in Côte d'Ivoire also benefit from EIFL programmes on open access and copyright.

EIFL advocates for the introduction of open science policies by research funders and universities in Côte d'Ivoire. As a result, the first open science policy in the country was adopted by the Université Virtuelle de Côte d'Ivoire.

We also supported ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty for persons with print disabilities, and Côte d'Ivoire ratified the treaty in 2020.
