Public librarians who have completed training-of-trainers programmes organized by the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) and partners in Kenya, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia are invited to attend this informal knowledge sharing event - a ‘T-break’, where T stands for trainers - on the topic, 'Public Library Services for Special Groups'.

The T-break will be led by a team from the Namibia Library and Archives Service (NLAS).  Three public library trainers - Letta Shivute of Mariental Public Library, Aletta Dunn of NLAS Community Library Services, and Jakob Muleka of Oshana Regional Library - will share their experience and discuss what staff capacities are needed to address information and digital skills needs of teenage girls, inmates of correctional institutions, and creative children and youth.

This is the third in a series of virtual ‘T-breaks’ organized for the public library trainers by EIFL-PLIP. The aim is to refresh the trainers’ knowledge, share practical experiences and to build a local and cross-border support network of public library trainers. Since 2017, EIFL has trained 62 public librarians in Kenya, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia to become trainers, who have cascaded training to over 650 librarians in their countries.
