EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme Advisor for Initiatives for Africa, Janet Sawaya, will take part in the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2018. This year’s theme is ‘The Internet of Trust’.

On 14 November, from 10.10 - 11.10am, the Dynamic Coalition on Public Access in Libraries (DC-PAL) will organize a round table discussion on the important role that public access to the internet through public libraries can play in achieving the UN Sustainable Development goals. EIFL is a founder of the DC-PAL, which was created by EIFL and IFLA (the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) at the Internet Governance Forum in 2011. The DC-PAL aims to engage the IGF community in discussion about public access to the internet and the role and potential of libraries.

The IGF is a multistakeholder space that brings together stakeholders from government, industry and civil society to discuss public policy issues relating to the internet. See the IGF 2018 programme here.
