The ALMASI project (Aligning and Mutualizing Nonprofit Open Access Publishing Services Internationally) organizes the third webinar in its Discussion Series on Scholar-led Publishing.

Date and time: 18 November 2026, 16:00 CET
Registration: Please register here.

Researchers around the world contribute to Diamond Open Access (OA) publishing as authors, reviewers and editors. But what motivates them to get involved, and what do they gain from their participation?

This webinar will bring together researchers from Africa, Europe and Latin America to share their experiences of contributing to Diamond OA journals, book series and community-led publishing initiatives. Speakers will also discuss how contributions to Diamond OA publishing could be recognised in research assessment, and how journals serving different communities, regions and languages can build trust and credibility.

Speakers:

  • Ivonne Lujano (El Colegio Mexiquense, Mexico)
  • Sarisha Perumal (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, South Africa)
  • Matija Zlatar (Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy, Serbia)
  • Lukas Röseler (University of Münster, Germany).

EIFL is a partner in the ALMASI project. The discussion will be moderated by Milica Ševkušić, Project Coordinator in the EIFL Open Access Programme.
